Creativity has been a massive part of my life for as long as I can remember, even before I had children I owned a fully stocked craft cupboard! No matter what I undertake I find a way to bring my writing, design and making skills to it. When I was about to begin my A Levels I was convinced by an adviser to only take on academic subjects. My poor boyfriend at the time suffered under my lack of creative outlet. He found himself with some interesting craft items, including all the Metallica band members made out of lollypop sticks!
Ever since then I made a vow to never hide my creativity away. It’s simply not safe to do so!
As a trained designer and youth worker I am a multi-skilled artist with a passion for connecting to an audience through authentic words and powerful visuals. This is why I’m a great all round package to hire for your writing and designing needs.
Before becoming freelance I was the Digital Media and Resource Lead for 8 years at Blackburn Diocese Board of Education creating and developing their resources, as well as designing artwork for events, and creating content for socials.
How I work
I work across fundraising and event content, wellbeing workshops, awareness campaigns, and freelance writing for magazines and podcasts. What ties it all together is the same approach:
- Listen — I start by understanding what you need and who you’re speaking to, all over a brew of course!
- Research — I dig into your topic properly so the content feels real, relevant and not recycled. Unless you actually want me to talk about recycling!
- Create — I write and design content that’s simple, engaging, and unmistakably yours.
I’ve spent time running community events and facilitating workshops, so I know what it takes to hold a room, keep people engaged, and leave them wanting more. That experience shapes everything I write, even when I’m not the one in the room.
